While some of the food served at most high schools is decent, wouldn't it be great if students had another choice? High school students should be able to eat lunch off campus, and there are many great reasons: it would allow for fresh air and a break from school, kids could choose a more nutritious and filling meal of their choice, and it would help students manage their time and become more responsible. Students would like to have the possibility of off-campus lunches, it would be an advantage for all schools. Fresh Air and Friends Teens need to be able to get out of the same closed building and enjoy some fresh air every now and then. Kids get tired of being cooped up in the same building, sitting in classroom after classroom, for 7 hours a day. It would be nice for students to be able to go outside during the school day to simply breathe, relax and prepare for the rest of their lessons. Diana V. of Foothill High School says, “When the school keeps students on campus, it makes students want to leave” (High schools should). Having an off-campus lunch period would allow students to see their friends outside of class, especially friends they don't see at all during the day. One might argue that this is not important because students see their friends during lessons, but class time should be reserved for homework and studying, as any teacher would claim. While children may have time in class to talk, they are still limited on how much.
