A person in any group, ranging from young to old, may have a considerable amount of wisdom or not much. This concept, this definition of wisdom has been shared by humanity and has been called a virtue by many more than a few illustrious people. However, the way in which it can be achieved differs greatly, and this discrepancy manifests itself in Homer's Odyssey and Plato's Republic. The virtue called wisdom is present in both Plato's Republic and Homer's Odyssey, and although both works were created in the same period and time area, they both define wisdom differently from each other.
