Before you start you will need to check if you need all the pieces together and the parts. So you need to check if you have the right size case for your motherboard. Finding a bare floor to work on is the best place. So download the latest drivers for your PC so you don't have a headache later. Now you are ready to install the motherboard. Lay the case on its side to install the motherboard. If your case has a removable motherboard plate, remove it to install the motherboard. Match the motherboard mounting hole to the case or plate. Now use the spacers and install them on the case or plate where the holes lined up. Then use the screws and screw the motherboard to the standoffs. In some cases, plastic supports are used. They usually have pointed ends that you push up through the back of the motherboard and then you slide the flat head into the case or plate. Make sure the motherboard does not touch the case or the plate on the back of the motherboard. Now install the plate if your case came with the removable one. Make sure the motherboard is secure but not too tight to prevent it from breaking. Then connect the power to the motherboard. If you have an AT motherboard it will use 2 large 6 wire connectors. The black wires must be joined in the center otherwise you will fry the motherboard and believe me, this has happened a lot. They will be difficult to install but they will fit, keep trying. The problem is the small tabs placed on 1 side. If you have an ATX motherboard you will have 1 large 20 wire plug. It is made so that it can only be installed the right way. If you have a CPU that needs extra 12 volts connected to the motherboard, you'll need to install that as well. It looks different from other connectors and will install just right. You need to decide whether you want a desktop, a tower, or one of the new small cases. We recommend allowing expandability unless you are building a small case. Make sure you get a case that fits the space you plan to place it in. Make sure the case has at least one intake fan or space to install one on the front.
