If we didn't have fashion, a lot of people wouldn't have jobs because there are a lot of designers out there, plus all the celebrities wouldn't have names branded clothes because there would be no way to make them because we wouldn't have designers. The fashion of the 1920s has played a very important role in today's fashion. Including the material our clothes are made of, even the styles of clothing we wear. Many things women wear today come from the fashion of the 1920s. Flappers, shoe styles and accessories are some of the things we come from today. Many celebrities still wear some items that people wore in the 1920s, including flappers. Have you ever wondered what the amazing fashion of the 1920s was like? The fashion of the 1920s was also known as the Roaring '20s. 1920s fashion became more relaxed in the 1920s. In the early 1920s the normal fashion was lowered waistlines, long, cylindrical skirts, 7 inches to 10 inches below the knee. Women finally received the right to vote, with this new right women also wanted to be socially equal so the flapper was born. Flappers were first made in 1926. They became very popular soon after they were first made. The flapper was a very rebellious item of clothing because it showed a lot of a woman's body. Flapper was invented to describe a so-called new race. Flapper women wore cropped hair, short skirts and loved listening to jazz music. Flappers also drove cars and smoked, the word flapper is another word for prostitute. Many people disapproved of flappers because they thought they showed too much.
