It is considered the main source of development assistance, together with the IMF, for developing countries. However, the World Bank requires support from other organizations besides to the International Monetary Fund. These organizations include the International Development Association, the Multilateral Guarantee Agency and the International Finance Corporation (Baylis; 2008: 245). poverty through capital provisions, has taken on the role of mediator for fragile countries in conflict and has assisted global development at the economic, social and reconstruction levels.
