It sounds strange but it works. I promise! Every time you practice a good habit, reward yourself with an amount you think is right. Habits: Reward yourself with fake moneyAnd at the end of the day you will see how much "money" you have earned! But, here's one thing to keep in mind with this strategy: the trigger is a bit lacking. So I would suggest that your list be something physical that you keep on hand to remind you of (a notebook, sticky notes, etc.), rather than having it on a computer. Bad Habits Bad habits are hard. The elephant in the brain takes over and the rider seems virtually helpless. You become the cookie monster. We've all been there. Tactic no. 3: Stock Trading You probably know this one. You have your trigger, but do a different action/reward. Go for a walk and have hot water with cocoa, instead of the caffeine and sugar bomb you get at Starbucks. It works, so use it, but I've never really liked this tactic. First, it can take a while to find a substitute that your brain will accept. Even though I'm vegan, I'm very addicted to nachos (cheese is very bad for you). The only food that can curb cravings, which took me forever to figure out, is a big mashed potato
