A child's social environment is very important for the development of their respective sport as it has direct implications on their level of motivation and willingness to learn. Billy was not in a supportive social environment when he boxed. Billy lost his mother at an early age and life at home was not very peaceful as both his father and brother were striking miners, causing them to be easily irritated and they often took their anger out on him. Billy had no interest in boxing, but his father and the culture of the environment in which he was placed pushed him to dedicate himself to boxing. Without passion and motivation, Billy consistently performed poorly in boxing lessons, often being forced to shell out extra time to hone his basic skills before he could call it a day. This failure was a serious blow to Billy's confidence, causing him to have a very low perceived level of competence. Furthermore, Billy had several problems with the coach, not only was he an aggressive man with strict and regimented routines, but he yelled and screamed all the time, often embarrassing him in front of everyone. One day, coming across ballet attracted him to it. challenging activity, he began practicing with the help of the teacher and became the only boy in the crowd. The teacher at......middle of paper......as well as continuing with what he loves, dancing.Billy decided to dance for his father after he was caught working out at the gym with his friend. This reflects his desire to demonstrate his high competence after successful practices, in hopes of demonstrating and seeking acceptance from his father, which he did and brought them closer. After realizing his potential, he agreed to the audition and insisted that he fork over the money for the trip to London. They then worked to overcome the financial setback by realizing his dream together with his brother who one day caught him dancing on the roof, seeking a better future.
