Firstly, if the host culture has prejudice towards the heritage culture, secondly, if the people of the host culture and heritage have physical characteristics very different and finally if the host culture does not value cultural diversity (Linden-Andersen, 2015), these are all factors that can make it more difficult for an individual to adapt from one culture to another.
