As soon as I got to the floor, one of the nurses came into a room to see an SVT. He said that the ambulance would bring the patient here and that it would be good for me to see him. At that moment I felt my anxiety lessen a little. I was happy to see that the nurses wanted me to learn and see everything I could. I loved it in the ER. I got to see a variety of cases that were new to me. The nurse I looked after explained everything to me when we left the room and in case of emergency asked the other nurses if I could observe. I loved how the staff worked together. A patient would come in and the lead nurse would be in the room and another nurse would be on the other side of the patient helping him. Nursing is by far a career that requires teamwork, and you could really see that in the emergency room. I like that in the ER you see all the different cases and it helps maintain your skills
