Topic > Making Advertisements Memorable for the Viewer - 1193

According to CBS news, approximately, 600 to 625 advertisements are shown to a person in a day and about 272 of them are from television, radio, magazines and newspapers. Even if a person is exposed to so many advertisements every day, he or she might actually notice fewer than 80 of them. The goal of advertising is to convince customers to buy their products. So, if customers don't remember the ad after viewing it, the company is just wasting time and money. To be effective, an advertisement must be memorable for customers. So there are many creative elements in advertisements and I want to analyze them in this article. The advertisement I choose is the Kia Optima Alien advertisement. This ad was featured in the June 2011 issue of Wired Magazine. Additionally, this scene was part of Kia's 2011 Super Bowl epic run commercial. Kia's competitor company, Toyota and Honda, used men or women for commercial characters in the 2011 Super Bowl commercial. However, Kia has used aliens for commercial characters. The alien attracts commercial attention. It captured the customer's attention and made him read the description to satisfy his assumptions. We usually think that aliens are intelligent organisms and have high-tech means of transportation like UFOs. In this advertisement, the alien is not proud of the UFO but of his new 2011 Kia Optima sedan. Therefore, we can deduce that Kia wants to tell customers that you will want this car because even an alien like this car and Kia optima has a system high-tech. In particular, Kia wants to emphasize its fantastic optimal cooling and heating system and the features of the Aliens meet this emphasis. In our common sense, alien lives in space and the temperature of space are very high or low. So aliens... middle of paper... children. Young parents rarely have time to sit down to breakfast on any given day. However, they still want to serve a good breakfast to their children and build relationships with them. Then the Carnation Breakfast ad inserts the diagram showing that it contains 2 times the protein of an egg, 2 times the calcium of yogurt, and 21 types of minerals and vitamins. I think the Kia Optima Alien and Carnation Breakfast are great advertising. A strength of Optima Alien advertising is creativity and quirkiness. The settings of the advertisement attract the attention of the customers and make them know everything about the Kia Optima sedan. There is also no ambiguity. The advertising message was very clear and easy to understand. Breakfast advertising with carnations is very effective because it satisfies women's desire by demonstrating that a good breakfast is important and contains many nutrients.
