Topic > Why Skateboarders Shouldn't Be Banned - 1311

As skateboarding evolved, it was once something kids did in their free time, then it became a thriving sport. This has started many new changes in our local cities. “No skateboarding” signs are posted in places where skateboarders would go to practice. Architects are finding new ways to redesign structures like benches and handrails in the city, in order to reduce the abundance of skateboarders in an area. All of these changes have resulted in a good amount of money being spent redoing everything to prevent skateboarding, but nothing is being done to give skateboarders a safe place to skate. For young teens whose only mode of transportation is a skateboard, they can only travel so far, and skateparks aren't close enough. To eliminate the amount of skateboarders in densely populated areas, I propose that cities invest more money in building skateparks so that skateboarders have a safe place to practice the sport. It is very difficult to perform to the best of your ability with only the opportunity to practice. in your backyard. The skateboarders try to find a new place to skate, but come across a sign that says "No Skateboarding" and have the police called because they are on private property. Skateboarders strive to find those skatespots because they are the best way to learn the hardest tricks, without driving miles to visit an out-of-town skatepark. That's why skateboarders have a tendency to put themselves at risk of being prosecuted by the police just so they can achieve their goal of one day becoming sponsored. A sponsorship is when a company wants to pay you to represent their product. It's not an easy thing to earn, but with a lot of dedication anything can happen. A nearby skatepark will allow kids to start practicing at a young age, so one day they will...... middle of paper......go to the skatepark to make a difference. This will bring the community together because they will have to work together to achieve their goal. To conclude, skateboarding is getting bigger and bigger every year. The problem is that there aren't enough skateparks to support the growing population. Large cities can invest in a professionally designed park to increase the city's population and attract skateboarders from rough areas. By getting communities to work and donate some money, we could build more skateparks in sensible locations, like next to playgrounds. Reduce the amount of vandalism committed by skateboarders who are just looking for a place to practice. With your involvement, you can be the one who supports the growing population of skateboarders and the one who makes a difference in a child's life by allowing a skatepark to be built nearby.
