Gogh wonderfully transcribed only two colours, yellow and blue, in his Starry Night over the Rhone. He was said to use blue and yellow next to each other to make them appear brighter. In the sky and in the river there is a range of shades from dark to medium blue, with a prevalence of cobalt to Oxford to Persian blue. The city's street lamps shine a rich yellow-orange and are clearly reflected on the Rhone River. High in the sky, the stars shine a lighter yellow color that illuminates the night sky, given by their natural light.
