Topic > Extraordinary impact of industrial inventions…

“The Industrial Revolution was another of those extraordinary leaps forward in the history of civilization.” This quote from Stephen Gardiner pretty much sums up a long and laborious period of time in a single 15 word quote. Urbanisation, industrialization and contamination were all part of this significant period in European history. However, one aspect that best symbolized the Industrial Revolution was the sudden surge of new inventions and machinery that began during the Industrial Revolution. Of the many inventions that appeared during the Industrial Revolution, the spinning machine, the steam locomotive, and the steam engine were three of the most notable. The rotary jenny, the steam locomotive, and the steam engine were inventions that greatly improved all types of industries during the Industrial Revolution. During the Industrial Revolution, the textile industry received high demand for its cloth goods. However, the production of such goods was very slow. As demand increased, the need for a faster, cheaper, and more efficient way to produce enough cloth items became more urgent. Therefore, inventors began to develop new ways to produce cloth items. One of the best examples was the English inventor James Hargreaves. Hargreaves invented the spinning jenny, a device in which spinners used their right hand to quickly spin a wheel to rotate spindles and spin 8 threads around 8 spindles attached to a wooden frame. Because each spinning jenny could spin multiple threads at once, the device greatly increased the speed at which cloth was produced and the amount of cloth produced. This allowed the textile industry to meet the large demand for cloth items of the time and to improve its production method...... middle of paper...... and transportation methods were also improved by the steam engine. In summary, we can see that the spinning machine radically accelerated the production of cloth, thus helping the textile industry meet the large demand for fabrics during the Industrial Revolution. Secondly, we can also see how the steam locomotive helped industries transport their goods to more places more quickly, cheaply and quickly. However, none of these inventions were as dynamic and useful as the steam engine, which was used to power nearly every type of machinery during the Industrial Revolution. Overall, these three inventions contributed somewhat to the progress of the industrial revolution. Additionally, they helped improve production and transportation methods in agriculture, textiles, and many other areas of the industrial revolution.http://science.howstuffworks.com/steam-technology2.htm
