The article “Some psychological consequences of the anatomical distinction between the sexes” by Sigmund Freud focuses on the difference between boys and girls and the consequences and impact of Oedipus complex and penis envy. Freud studies the consequences and how boys and girls develop and progress from this stage. It must be said that Freud has a strong point of view on this matter, and in some ways this theory may seem like masochism and has been criticized by many feminists; but I cannot ignore the complexity and correctness of his ideas. But can we use these theories to understand the modernity of the society we live in?
