It was evident to me that Parris simply did not believe that restorative justice would ever work and that victims want nothing more than to see their offenders serve time (personal communication, September 23 2015). Clemones on the other hand, while not fully believing that restorative justice can work, at least realized that the current system does not work and accepted that he can help the individuals it binds by providing them with information about the resources available in the system. community (personal communication, September 23, 2015). I believe their similar responses to the idea of restorative justice may stem from the fact that they both worked for the same department, which obviously operates on a high pay system. Clemones' ability to better embrace a different approach may stem from the fact that he has been removed from internal parts of the department for a few years now. I would really like to hear from people in the criminal justice field who work in a higher crime area and see how their thoughts might differ on this topic. This assignment inspired me to tell more people about restorative justice, as my eyes were opened to the fact that in some departments this idea is unheard of.
