In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, as in the Holocaust, evil prevails over all good. According to Dictionary.com, the definition of evil is “morally bad or wrong.” The entire book is made up of morally bad or wrong events, so much so that it hides what little good can be found. Most of the evil comes from the Nazis, who treat the Jews inhumanely. No one should be treated the way they were treated, which is pretty much the definition of evil. In the book, there are many times where Elie finds himself in an evil situation. The first important moment was when the Jews were forced into a small train car with about 80 other people. The author wrote that: Lying down was not an option, nor could we all sit down. We decided to take turns sitting. There was little air. The luckiest found themselves near a window; they could watch the flowery countryside roll by. After two days the thirst became intolerable, as did the heat. (Page 23)All these people were crammed into a tiny space without food or water. No person, not even a bad person like a murderer, deserves to be in such an inhumane situation...
