Being right on the water, San Francisco is home to some of the best seafood around. It has exciting restaurant chains like The Hard Rock Café, Bubba Gumps and of course the Rainforest café. There are also plenty of family-owned restaurants unique to San Francisco, such as corner pubs and late-night pizza joints. My favorite place to go is the Fog Harbor Fish House on Pier 39 on Embarcadero Street. It features fresh seafood such as salmon and Mahi Mahi caught that day and offers a spectacular view of the bay bridge as it is located on the second level of the pier. The servers wear a white button-down shirt and black tie, white cloth napkins and a nice white tablecloth. I always order fresh, crispy calamari rings that I dip in lemon and dip in marinara sauce, followed by seafood pasta with fresh halibut, clams, creamy Alfredo sauce and a huge hunk of garlic bread.
