I also remember how I chose to stay after school and meet with my teachers to make sure I didn't fall behind. During college I took custody of my grandchildren and became a foster parent to them to give them a better lifestyle, all while working full time, attending school full time, and being president of two organizations. As a graduate student, I began to learn a great deal from my experiences in high school and graduate school. I started my Master's program with impostor syndrome, thinking I wasn't good enough for an advanced degree. As I reflected on my experiences through homework and theory, completing my graduate program became realistic. I was able to actually recognize my accomplishments and see that the adversity I overcame helped shape me into the person I am
