The 1950s and 1960s in Canada were a great time. Not as cruel as World War I and World War II. Not as tragic as the Great Depression. But a rather endless stream of entertainment, rapidly growing economies and the most important thing: peace. People didn't need to worry about war, even if there was one, our "good friend" United State would protect us. People didn't have to worry about money going into the bank, because the economy was booming. Children could go to school, women and Aboriginal people had the same right. Everything was fine. These reasons made the 1950s and 1960s a “good life”. The 1950s and 1960s were a peaceful time. Soldiers who fought in World War II returned home after the war ended. They were happy to see their families again. Everyone was excited. They expected job opportunities. People started having more children. The government encouraged people to have more children.
