Raising Child Abuse Awareness let's spread the word about how terrible this topic is. By being a voice (legal system, friend, social worker, parent) we make sure children no longer suffer and help children speak up when they can't. Taking care of ourselves, as a society, we must continue to come up with different ideas that could help put an end to child abuse and not let the number increase anymore. And finally, doing our job, if the social worker had placed Agnes back in her mother's care, who knows what would have happened. We need to make sure that the best interests of the child are truly taken into account and that their needs are met before we can even worry about what might be easier for us and our work. This movie really opened my eyes to what a problem child abuse has, especially the long term effects. Making sure children receive the proper care they need, not just another caseload when it comes to the foster care system, will help put an end to the high statistical rate of child abuse. It is our job as a community, as a society and as human beings to ensure that children grow up in a safe home and that their interests and needs are met on a daily basis.
