“Our greatest fear is not to never fall, but to get up every time we do.” – ConfuciusAt the beginning of this module I had no idea what to expect. When I heard the term “Marketing” only one thing came to mind: presentations. When I was in school, I vaguely remembered that my presentation skills were not even close to those of Suze Orman, considered America's most inspirational speaker. In fact, they were so bad that I wasn't sure about taking this course at first. But then I had no choice. I had opted for BA Hons. Business Management and the course were accompanied by a module called Marketing. In our first seminar it was made clear that there would be group presentations in subsequent seminars and everyone would be given the opportunity to speak. This was to ensure that at the end of the year we would not have stuttering problems or major tensions in dealing with the class during the presentation week. Along the way I realized that this not only helped me improve my presentation skills, but it helped me get closer to the topic of marketing. What I feared was so temporary; before long I enjoyed my marketing class more. I looked forward to those group activities, where we were given time to converse, to get to know each other and also to know what exactly we were learning. It was through these activities that I understood the topic more intensely. The presentation week began in week 20, continuing until week 21. That's when the pressure and tension also started to build all around. We were asked to conduct an analysis on a small local organization based in Dubai.
