Topic > Importance of a Communication Pattern - 872

A communication pattern is a means by which information is packaged and passed or imparted from a sender to a receiver. Aristotle was the first theorist to take the initiative, developing a model of communication. He proposed the model before 300 BC Aristotle found in his model of communication the importance of public participation, in a chain of communication. Aristotle's communication model focuses more on public speaking rather than interpersonal speaking (Narula, 2006). Aristotle's communication model has five basic elements. These include the speaker, the speech, the occasion, the audience and the effect. The speaker organizes information into speeches and conveys it to the audience. The public is the recipient of information. The process of delivering information or speech to an audience is called an occasion. The response that the speech elicits from the audience becomes the effect. According to Aristotle's communication model, the speaker has absolute responsibility for the communication process. The speaker prepares content in which he organizes his thoughts into words with the aim of influencing the audience, to respond in the desired way (Narula, 2006). Communication is an essential factor in building relationships and understanding. However, several barriers to effective communication occur. They come in different forms and interfere with effective communication in different ways. First, the public's lack of knowledge represents one of the main communication barriers. When a speaker or sender of information fails to understand his audience, he may send information that is not intended for that specific audience. This information may be offensive to that audience. Therefore, speaker or sender……half a sheet……ns. Stakeholder groups may differ within themselves, and with leaders, in organizations. They may resolve their differences or fail to resolve them. This process uses communication as an essential tool. Stakeholder groups and leaders' relationships, work, and the issues that arise from those relationships influence organizational politics. Politics could be positive or negative. Communication is a vital tool for looking at organizational politics, regardless of its form (Dubrin, 2011). In conclusion, communication has different models that take different forms, for example the Aristotle model. There are some barriers in communication processes. They negatively affect communication and influence responses. Effective communication requires that people understand the interests of stakeholders and other participants, in organizational and social contexts.
