Sports organizations are looking for students who not only have a degree but also experience under their belt. Market-> UNK does a great job of having their students gain hands-on field experience right from the start and has many connections to do such a thing. In order for a student to complete their degree, they must have a sports-related internship and 80-160 "other" hours within UNK Varsity Sports and the local Minor League hockey team. This allows students to see firsthand what is needed and what is expected of them in the career field of sports management.
