Sports trainers play an important role in the health of athletes. They help injured players on the playing field when they cannot continue the match they were participating in. Nowadays sports coaches are part of most athletics team. If coaches are hired by a high school, they will participate in all events that have to do with sports. The athletic trainer's duties as a sports coach are not limited to external or internal, and after spending a lot of time with the team, athletes may begin to accept them as part of their team. Athletic trainers, also known as ATs, have many duties to accomplish throughout the day. Trainers must teach medical courses to students. Some athletes will need to ask coaches to relieve pain by massaging injured body parts. They must communicate with coaches to obtain the proper equipment, suggest diets for athletes, and use the correct excise/workouts. (Career of "Athletic Coach"). Coaches will need to help an injured athlete recover from the injury. ATs try to help prevent any injuries with happy conditioning and warm-ups. (“Sports Coaches” 492). The duties of a TA are usually found in a high school, university, etc. Athletic trainers work in environments that promote physical fitness. ATs operate every day of the year. They can work with more than one sport/team with many different athletes. School budget restrictions also interfere with the work environment. While they work with a professional team, they will only work with one team and one team only. Athletic trainers travel with their team when they go to games, practices, etc. (“Sports trainers” 495). TAs work in academic settings. The higher the education level, the more money… half the paper… except for one person who is only an athletic trainer due to the school budget. (“Sports Coaches” 495). School teachers have a better chance of getting a job as an athletic trainer than a coach who just applied for a job. Athletic trainers play a very important role in sports. I learned that this work can lead your teams in drills and stretches. I've found that being an athletic trainer means that once you commit to a team sport, you become a part of it. A sports coach helps the team fight injuries and illnesses. If a player falls, the coach is there to catch him. They are practically the backbone of the sport. I wouldn't recommend this job to other people because it doesn't make much money and you have to drop everything to go to games, training, etc. To be an athletic trainer, you must be dedicated and truly love this job.
