One of the reasons I choose social work as a career is because I have always known that I wanted to help others in some way. One summer I had the opportunity to work with early childhood services and supports. While working on the program, I had the opportunity to see firsthand how so many families needed serious help but were unable to receive it due to the state's lack of funding and social workers. Seeing it firsthand, it broke my heart that so many people need so much more help than others who abuse it
