The American Revolutionary War of 1775-1783 was a historic moment in American history as it marked America's position for its freedom from the English monarchy and for the maintenance of rights that was slowly developing during their stay in the country. Many skirmishes and battles occurred throughout the country and it may seem that the British had the upper hand due to their superior naval and military capability which could help them win the war. It apparently did not help in this war as the colonists and Native Americans managed to use their weaknesses against them and win the war and ultimately their independence from English rule. With their independence within reach and British troops sent back, how exactly did this war come to this conclusion? How did the colonists manage to outwit and outmaneuver the more advanced and battle-experienced English troops? The issue of territory is one of the advantages the colonists had against their English enemies. This problem was also one of the main reasons why the English armies did not win this war. Since English troops mostly sailed from their homeland, they would have been familiar only with the seas and waters inside and outside the country. They may know few details regarding the country thanks to some navigation logs and explorers' journals, but this information may not be accurate considering the time it was written and when they would have arrived in the country. Britain was well known for being very powerful in the fight for water in the past and is still a force to be reckoned with. They are also quite skilled in hand-to-hand combat and military combat, but since they would be mostly at sea, they won't have enough time to scout the area to check out possible positions that might be open for... middle of paper... .... France had to leave France in the middle of the fight due to economic problems. (Berkin, Miller, and Cherny) No matter what decided the outcome of the Revolutionary War, it is still an event in history where people begin to understand the importance of their rights and learn the means on how to protect their freedom. If the British had won the war, America would have been part of the Commonwealth countries and would have eventually gained independence from Great Britain in the latter part of the 19th century. America will still be a powerful nation, but its position in the international community will not be as pronounced as it is today. But with the victory against a very powerful competitor and country, America not only proves that it is unfair to judge a book by its cover, but also proves that as long as you maintain the will to fight, anything is possible..
