Freedom of speech is what the constitution of this country offers to its people. However, we must be aware that the implementation of these rights requires a sense of duty. For this reason, media is an essential element in today's culture and has become the main impact and effect on the future, perspective and vision the world has of us. Consequently, the media is responsible for traditional American ideals and image familiarity based on media impact. The media is critical to social influence and political decisions. Furthermore, the media has a responsibility to ensure accuracy and accountability to readers, viewers and listeners. Nonetheless, the media should support fairness and thoroughness (Pulliam, 1996-2012). To this end, the media has transformed into the most crucial aspect of our age, influencing every citizen by resolving the uneasiness regarding media responsibility today, but also challenging to characterize the importance of responsibility. Media is what we read, listen to and watch; the main impact is psychological, intellectual and has commercial implications. A utilitarian purpose can only be effective through the effort of adding different ethical standards established by the social order to improve our society. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or restrict freedom of speech or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances” (Bhagwat, 2011). Therefore, the media is responsible for how we perceive and construct our personal view of the world and how it works. So… half the paper… to ensure that information is presented in a fair, balanced and truthful manner (Voakes, 2004). As journalists and the media themselves, we all have a responsibility to seek and report the truth, minimize harm and act independently (Pulliam, 1996-2012). Therefore, the media has a responsibility to provide readers, viewers and listeners with accurate and responsible information. Furthermore, the media has largely incorporated a crucial aspect of our age, influencing every citizen rather than politics, law or other social issues. As a future journalist, you have three roles of responsibility to the media. They must act as a mirror of society to inform people. Furthermore, to help bridge communication gaps between different sectors of society. Finally, also critically analyze public policies, social and cultural issues in society.
