Students should feel safe at school, and we need to know how to adequately advocate for them when that isn't the case. There needs to be a zero tolerance policy against bullying in school. There are many anti-bullying programs and one of them needs to be implemented in school. All school staff must know how to intervene appropriately when they see a student being bullied or mistreated. This ultimately means that the school must have a district-wide prevention plan that is regularly implemented. Furthermore, they must have an intervention plan so that they are ready to intervene in certain circumstances. 4. Should the principal's office be the only remedy for the bully? I don't think "the principal's office" should be the only remedy for the bully. I think it would be important to talk to this child and spend time working with him on bullying. You may need to do one-on-one counseling with the bully. I believe it would be important to follow up on this situation because one cannot simply assume that there will be no further concerns regarding bullying. 5. What systemic awareness approaches should you take if you find that more students are being bullied throughout the school and that no “bully-proof” programs are being offered”
