What is the medicinal substance that many people turn to when they have a runny nose, a bad cough, or a headache? Vicks created a substance around the 1960s that helped with these types of symptoms. Nyquil is the main thing that people will use when they experience these sick symptoms. The history of Nyquil and its relationship to chemistry is substantial. There are four questions asked to link Nyquil to Chemistry and they are: What was society like before, How have natural resources limited or advanced it, how does Nyquil affect society today and how will it affect our future? Before Nyquil was created many people used or made certain remedies. Medically, people would use Vicks Rub and a Pixen. Others would use whiskey, which is always something everyone used in the past. However, some people use home remedies such as taking showers and humidifiers. Nyquil is not the only thing the medicine contains. He just has more things to take care of. There are many natural resources in Nyquil. Paracetamol is a part of the medicine that is derived from coal tar. This part helps with fever and contains a painkiller. Dextromethorphan HBr nourishes the cough you have. It helps more because it can come from the environment. Doxylamine succinate is the antihistamine that will kill you. It makes you sleepy really quickly. That's why people use it a lot at night. Citric acid is the part of the serum that kills the flu in you. Alcohol is used in Nyquil to hold the other three solutions in place. It is also used in ancient times to relieve pain. Polyethylene glycol and propylene glycol are used as a thickener. This is combined with water and honey. Also there's...half of the paper...so hard work to actually read it. Sorry for the interruption... However Nyquil may or may not have a huge impact on our own future society, but medicine as a whole will. In conclusion, Nyquil is very related to Chemistry. It has effects due to resources present in nature. The same one that chemists use to conduct chemical experiments. They also use metric conversions in Chemistry. When using Nyquil you need to measure the amount of servings so you don't hurt yourself. Society before Nyquil was doing well medically. However having Nyquil in our society today has had a major impact on it. When we get to the future, there may or may not be a new, better medicine that works better or is even cheaper. I believe chemists will have no problem with this. Chemistry goes hand in hand with medicine. I wonder what will happen next in the medical world.
