At each stage faculty provide less and less help, but students must master all the skills from the previous stage to succeed in a psychology major. In the last stage you should be able to master all six critical thinking skills, understand the information, then be able to analyze it, learn to apply it, and finally create original knowledge. To do this, you need to master all the previous skills (Appleby, 2003, p. 5). Furthermore, it is important to improve knowledge of human behavior, research methods, critical thinking, information literacy, and adaptability (Kuther, (2012), p,20). These characteristics made me understand that I need to become aware of the "big picture" to better understand the value of the courses I am/will be taking.
