Three decades ago, the Honorable Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau was establishing the famous Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Since its founding three decades, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms has protected the individual rights and freedoms of thousands of Canadians. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms has become part of the national identity and has become a great patriotic symbol for the country. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms is the document that truly separates Canada from all other powerful nations and is truly something Canadians are proud of. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms raises many questions, but the biggest and most common question is How effectively does the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms protect your individual rights? . To know exactly how effectively it protects your rights you can look at situations where it has and has not protected the rights of Canadians. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms protects the legal rights of Canadians whether they are teenagers or adults, protects the equality rights of Canadians and provides government services to all Canadians, no matter what, ensures that all laws are passed according to the Charter of rights and freedoms and provides fundamental equality rights and freedoms to Canadians to practice their religion and other rights without interference. One of the legal rights protected by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is: the right to be free from detention, search and seizure without reasons supported by law. “In an unknown school in Canada, there was a sudden police check, during which police dogs roamed the school corridor to see if there were any suspicious substances or objects. During the check, the police have...... middle of paper......I really think that the Charter of Rights and Freedoms has paved the way for the creation of a free and democratic Canada and I believe it will create Canada as the largest democratic nation.
