We Christians must rely on God's understanding and not our own: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not trust in your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). Joni could live her faith by trusting in God and not thinking that she is worthless. She could bring the living word to the people around her. As a voice calling from the wilderness like John the Baptist, Joni's wilderness would be her situation. Christians all over the world are using the pain they have known to spread God's message.
