One day, while walking home from school, Clay receives a package on his doorstep. In the package Clay found were seven tapes and a map of Hannah Baker. Before she died, Hannah had recorded tapes of thirteen reasons why she had decided to commit suicide. His instructions in the tape were like a chain message to pass the tape down now if you finish listening to it move on to the next one on the list (Hughes, K., n.d.). Body The first reason Hannah committed suicide was Justina Foley, who was one of the students at the high school Hannah Baker and Jessica Davis attended. Hannah, Jessica and Alex were new to school and all hung out together but Hannah didn't label them as her friends. However, Justin Foley was Hannah's first kiss during their freshman year of high school. Justin exaggerated the kiss he had with Hannah, spreading rumors that he and Hannah didn't just share a kiss but it was more than a kiss, these rumors painted a bad image of Hannah in the school (Stewart, 2016). The second reason for Hannah's death was Alex Standall, also a new student at the school. During their freshman class Alex had collected all of Hannah's freshman records describing how Hannah had the best ass in their freshman class. After that incident at school with Alex, she was attacked by a boy in a candy store, this made her lose confidence in herself and also she was called a slut because of the incident in the store (Stewart, 2016). The third reason for Hannah's death was Jessica Davis, Hannah's classmate during her freshman year of high school. Jessica and Alex had been in a relationship, but Alex chose Hannah over Jessica, this made Jessica jealous of Hannah and started to surface rumors that Hannah was a slut (Stewart, 2016). The fourth reason for Hannah's death was Tyler Down was known as the professional photographer of the school, one night he goes to Hannah's house to give her the photos he took during a photo shoot while he was near Hannah's house he saw Hannah was talking to a boy then hides next to the flower garden to see who was with her. After the boyfriend left, Hannah came into the house and was sexting with a friend and Tyler was peeking through the window to see what she was doing, he took out his camera and started taking pictures of her (Stewart, 2016) . Fifth reason for Hannah's death was Courtney Crimsen, a girl whose personality Hannah likes. Hannah clears up the event with Tyler peeking in the windows. However, Hannah felt likehaving been unnoticed by Courtney Crimsen. She also invited Hannah to a party, but Hannah was unhappy with her feeling of being ignored by Courtney. After that party Hannah discovered that Courtney had been spreading rumors about her (Stewart, 2016). The sixth reason for Hannah's death was Marcus Cooley, Hannah's boyfriend. At school, for Valentine's Day Hannah had planned to bring him ice cream but he arrived late, and she also explains that she was raped by Marcus in the restaurant they met in dinner (Stewart, 2016). Seventh reason for Hannah's death was Zach Dempsey, he was in peer communication class with her. After Hannah was attacked during dinner, Zach comforted her, which made her feel a little better, but later found out that Zach was picking up letters from her bag, which always made her feel more depressed, she even attempted suicide but no one opposed her. border about it (Stewart, 2016). The eighth reason for Hannah's death is that Ryan Shaver, was in poetry class with Hannah while suffering from depression and wrote a poem about his feelings. Ryan and Hannah shared their poems together without realizing that Ryan would publish them in his magazine. Later Hannah discovers that some of her poems had been published by Ryan and this made her feel increasingly depressed (Stewart, 2016). The ninth reason for Hannah's death is Clay Jensen, Hannah had made it clear that Clay was innocent and his name should not be there. the list. Describes Clay's personality: He was a good guy. She adds that they were at a party together, they both hit it off to get to know each other better, she had wanted to meet Clay for a long time. But it was too late Hannah was planning her death (Stewart, 2016). Tenth reason for Hannah's death Justin Foley again. One night, during a party at Justin's house, which Hannah had also attended, she saw Justin allow his drunken friends into a room where an unconscious girl was lying and they raped her. He didn't name who raped that girl, but he blames Justin for allowing the boy into the room in the first place (Stewart, 2016). Eleventh reason for Hannah's death, Jenny Kurtz. A girl who gave Hannah a ride home after the party and came across a sign. Later, a car crashed in the same place, an elderly man from Hannah was killed in the car accident. On the day of her funeral Hannah was also thinking about her own funeral (Stewart, 2016). Twelfth Reason for Hannah's Death Bryce Walker sexually assaulted Hannah during the hot tub party before she went home with Jenny Kurtz. Even in this he explains how he intends to commit suicide (Stewart, 2016). The thirteenth reason for his death was the high school guidance office. Mr. Porter was a high school English teacher and also filled in as teacher orientation for Hannah's class. Hannah came to him with her problems but he couldn't help her. That Mr Porter also contributed to her death, if he had been able to help her, this would not have happened to her (Stewart, 2016).
