From Drift to Displacement by Jody B. Miller is inspiring, powerful, and a must-read for everyone! If you have ever experienced, are going through, or will ever go through a period of transformation in your life (hint: you will!), this is the book for you. The author delves into her own difficulties and those of others and takes a look at how difficult situations can lead to the best transformations in one's life. This book reminds us that no matter what happens to us in our lives, we have the ability to make the best of every situation. This is truly a book that every human being can relate to and should be read by everyone. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Get an Original Essay The book focuses on several people who have experienced the lowest of lows and yet, against all odds, turned their experiences into success. An abandoned, poverty-stricken little girl becomes a well-educated, successful businesswoman who creates a nonprofit organization to help children like her. A cancer survivor uses her experiences to help others through physical activity. In another, a serious injury leads to the discovery of an extraordinary talent, to name a few. Rather than allowing challenges to lead to desperation, each person in this book decided to make the best of their situation in their own way. I particularly enjoyed the author's recollection of her struggles, her journey from life's lows to the highs, and all the changes in between. His experience with the Amazonian Achuar tribe was truly inspiring. After each person's story, it nicely summarizes the keynotes of their journey. It reminds us that it's okay to have moments of drift, to be brave, to believe in yourself and, above all, to enjoy the journey! Life will get better. I rate this book 3 stars out of 4. I really liked the content, I got to know each person's story and how they overcame their difficulties. It's a book I will reread again, probably many more times. There were occasional errors throughout the game, which is the only reason I gave From Drift to Shift three stars rather than four. Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who can relate to feeling lost in life, fearing the unknown, or staying in a position in life where you may be unhappy, but comfortable. The inspiring stories in this book could be just the push you need to transition into a life you love!
