Frost uses it in this work to create a satisfying harmony of pleasant, mood-enhancing tonal qualities. A good example is lines one and two of stanza three in which the poet gives voice to the little horse: “Give the harness bells a shake / To ask if there is any mistake.” (9, 10) H sounds cause the reader to blow the wind out of the throat, S sounds blow briskly on the teeth and tongue.
