Since the dawn of curiosity and exploration we have attributed all our progress to a supernatural entity called "God". As science advances, the evidence suggests less and less the need for such a being; however, religious people still struggle to keep the Bible within science. Hindering their beliefs about a creation story as “Real Science” has confused many and stopped scientific exploration, due to a false image of what science is. It is evident that some see creationism as a model of viable science, but it does not meet standard scientific requirements. The foundations of creationism are built on anemic foundations, with a lack of data to support the claim that the earth is only 6,000 years old. old. The affirmation of a young Earth comes from an archbishop who traced the genealogy of biblical characters back to Adam and Eve. According to biblical genealogy, the Earth was founded in 4004 BC (Ussher, Annals). Unfortunately, the Bible or the authority of a religious figure does not constitute evidence to support a scientific theory. Belief in a young Earth created by a religious deity is based on faith that the Bible is true, but for creation to be a viable scientific model it must follow the same line of rigorous skepticism and experimentation that the scientific method allows (Dunbar, Scientific Method) . Creationists want the same respect in the scientific community as any other respectable science, but that is difficult when their “science” contradicts the evidence. In Fulufjället, Sweden, a 9,550-year-old spruce tree still lives today (Owen, National Geographic). This tree is more than 3,500 years older than creation science says the earth is. Irrefutable evidence proves the age of this tree, but creationism has no evidence to support a tu...... middle of paper ......: Master Books, 2003) Dunbar, Brian. "Scientific method". NASA.
