Today, in the era of post-modernity, the ideas of instilling the concepts of saving the environment and upholding the virtues of local wisdom are experimenting a stratospheric rise to fame. These constructed ideas are truly consistent with the idea of creating environmental education proposed in the Belgrade Charter (UNESCO, 1976) and the Tbilisi Declaration (UNESCO, 1978) as stated in Sauvé (1999:13). Postmodernity itself is further clarified by Sauvé, where he deals with complex, unique and contextual nature as an object of knowledge. So, on this basis, everything related to nature could become the source of pedagogical learning. Pedagogical learning towards nature in the Indonesian educational context has already been echoed in its recognition by the Ministry of Environment. Cheers to the seriousness of the Ministry in refining and carrying forward this idea, as consequently numerous schools of all levels of education are eager to put the idea into practice. Subsequently, other huge collaborations were initiated, including with the Directorate General of Primary and Secondary Education and the Department of National Education of Indonesia (Kementrian Lingkungan Hidup/Ministry of the Environment, 2012). Therefore, this trend of environmental education on such frameworks aimed at instilling the notions of love for the environment and incorporating traditional values is widely seen in many fields of studies and language education is no exception. In the Department of English Language Teaching of Higher Education, there was a course on teaching English to young students.
