IntroductionAmerican Express is a global, trusted and reliable company with an extraordinary history and founders. The company was an express delivery company, which grew to become one of the largest companies we know today. According to research, an express company was responsible for transporting valuable goods and money. American Express is the world's #1 travel services organization. They serve clients worldwide with approximately 1,800 offices worldwide. American Express sets itself apart from other companies with its unique Charge cards and popular Traveler's Checks. The company allowed customers to go “anywhere and spend money without carrying a single dollar in their pocket.” (Advameg) This document will highlight the history of the company, followed by the HR policies and practices that stand out, and the implications of the HR policies compared to other companies.
