I need to look at my student through a “blind veil of ignorance” as said by John Rawls. What I mean by this is not to ignore the student, but I need to see them through their eyes as well as my own. I need to overcome my thoughts and prejudices to see their opinions. What I might see as mundane or simple could be that student's life's work. I have to be ready to adapt by learning who my students are. I must also live with a mindset that embraces the golden rule and that is respect. This way I can learn who they are and help adapt my classroom to help them succeed. This philosophy will be the foundation of my classroom.
