Topic > Child Marriage in Pakistan - 1554

'Pakistan is one of the developing countries and there are various unstudied and ignored problems which prevent it from standing out as a stable country. One of these is the violation of human rights. Women's rights in Pakistan are freely violated and there are almost negligible systems working to ensure equal rights for women in Pakistan. There is one ill-advised aspect to women's rights and that is the prevalence of child marriage. The government of Pakistan is extremely indulgent in its political concerns of deflecting its social problems which are gradually deepening its roots in this society where injustice is not only the history of the present but also follows like a dark shadow in its future. Since the government of Pakistan is unable to register all births in the country, it has become difficult to obtain an exact number of child marriages and, therefore, the prevalence of child marriage cannot be precisely determined, but according to the Pakistan Demographic Health Survey 2012 -2013, the fertility rate among girls aged 15 to 19 is 44 per 1000 women. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the reasons and consequences of child marriage so that we can make rational decisions for the future and protect children from these atrocities that are ruining their childhood, burdening them with adult responsibilities. Child marriage should be discouraged as it is a direct opposition to human rights laws and is also a form of child abuse which affects the child's development such as education and other skills and also severely affects his home life which can lead to separation, divorce. and emotional disorders in the future. However, the concept of child marriage is mostly prevalent… middle of paper… or even for petty crimes. In the worst case, the jirga can even result in the girl being deprived of her right to Mehr. In rich families, some marriages take place within families so that the family's lands do not fall into the hands of other families of different caste. Pait Likkhi is also a very common ritual and is another brutal form of suppression of freedom. Therefore, it has almost become difficult to escape these unshakable shackles of customs and traditions, especially for families living in tribal areas. Despite all these eminently significant reasons leading to child marriage, it cannot be denied that rights are being brutally suppressed. The reasons that support child marriage are only temporary solutions and these solutions can cause serious permanent problems. The irrationality and narrow-mindedness of people living in Pakistan are unable to measure their long-term benefits.
