Many times people think that women cannot do or understand what a man can do. There are many women who do things as great as a man. If you think of an advertisement for an alcoholic drink you think of a woman in a bikini drinking the drink. It would be extremely unusual to see a man in a bathing suit doing what the woman does. Women are seen as beautiful objects rather than intelligent and useful ones. There are many different stereotypes that we see every day in the media creeping into our brains and we need to unlearn them. I have shown that the media has a negative effect on our world today through the way it sets our thinking on stereotypes and the way it portrays white supremacy. Racism and sexism will continue to exist until people see the truth behind what we are shown every day. We will never be able to truly unlearn racism and sexism until we step back and address these difficult problems and try to find solutions instead of continuing to promote this phenomenon.
