Topic > Design and Simulation of Intelligent Traffic Control...

We had a really great research experience when we designed an intelligent system that will be able to monitor and control road traffic in Nigerian city, all described in this document. We took inspiration from the current traffic control system through which we identified the problem at the "+" intersection and then implemented our own system to solve the problem. Their approach was based on an integrated systems methodology. We have designed our new system to eliminate some problems present in current traffic control systems. To go into the details of the current traffic control system, the hybrid methodology was crucial for us, so that we can classify intersections as "Y" and "+" and thus know all the defects existing in traffic stalls on road intersections. To eliminate all the errors in the current system, the best possible solution was to design an intelligent system that would resolve the impasse. Therefore, after addressing the core of the problem, Java SE 6 was the possible tool to create a simulated version of the current traffic control system. To map everything with real life scenarios, each lane has a series of arrows on the side, to get the car flow density, simply click on the arrows. Transportation system components include roads, traffic lights, vehicles, traffic signals, etc. To make all these components intelligent, so that they can communicate with each other, we can simply embed them with sensors and microchips. Road traffic problems are the most panic situations for those. Therefore it is quite interesting for researchers to build such a system so that people can get out of these problems, and so far they have successfully implemented an intelligent system, which is mainly based on fuzzy logic technology to operate control traffic lights.Figure 2.1 : The simulated traffic control system with fuzzy logic. Limitations: • Implementing such a system requires high cost ratio. • The accuracy of the same system can be increased by using a PLC based system. • High possibility of error in the system in case of high density .2.4 RESEARCH PAPER NO: 02Title:PLC Based Intelligent Traffic Control SystemJournal:International Journal of Electrical & Computer Sciences IJECS-IJENS Vol: 11 No: 06Author: Muhammad Arshad KhattakSummary:The main objective of this research paper was to design and implement intelligent traffic control system.
