Education has great value in the contemporary world. We believe that the knowledge gained in universities and colleges is the key to finding a good job, thriving and succeeding in life. Education is seen as a kind of inheritance: it contains all the values, experiences and achievements of our ancestors and, to ensure the survival of a culture, it must be passed on to future generations. However, school education should never have been made compulsory. Compulsory education is largely focused on creating a unified society composed of weak personalities, with low levels of individuality and self-confidence. We are led to believe that the government wants to ensure equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of family or financial background, and therefore everyone should attend school. But the side effect of this approach (probably more intentional than not) allows the State to effectively control the people placed under its jurisdiction.
