We often hear about family values and how they have diminished in modern society. The majority of society no longer goes to church, no longer converses with neighbors, children no longer play football in the streets. The most notable is the two-parent family; where the husband provided and the wife managed the home. This has changed significantly in the last 60 years, due to the feminist movement for career options for women, equal opportunities and the dual-role lifestyle of housewife and worker. The realism of the kitchen sink drama references the plays of the 1950s/60s. . These plays challenged the private domestic life of a not-so-ordinary family. In "A Taste of Honey" (1957), Shelagh Delaney differentiates society's opinions, relating to unmarried mothers, homosexual males, interracial relationships, and sexual conflicts between men and women. The play premiered at Joan Littlewood's Theater Workshop on 27 May 1958 (Pickering 1988). Theatrical censorship in Britain had much in common with the cinema.
