There is a famous saying that "health is wealth". I believe health is of utmost importance when it comes to living a quality life. I have always been impressed by the role health plays in our lives, so I have a passion for being a healthcare professional. In order to make significant changes in people's health status and promote positive health in society, I have chosen nursing as a career where I can spread good health through love, care and support. I recently joined the nursing program at San Francisco State University and the fact that I do nursing makes me feel great because it involves caring for and maintaining health and well-being. For me, nursing is a stepping stone towards achieving my goal, as it will help me acquire the ideas and skills to serve the community. To learn about the field and start helping people I volunteered at Oakland Children's Hospital for two years. At the children's hospital, I offered assistance to parents by holding babies and helped nurses by running errands and comforting babies in their difficult times. I have also been volunteering in the emergency room at Doctors Medical Center for more than a year, where I assist emergency personnel and patients during times of urgency. I also volunteered as a student nurse to administer vaccinations to San Francisco's low-income population. These experiences not only helped me understand the complexity of working with a highly diverse and multicultural population, but I also experienced the joy that comes in our lives from offering a helping hand to those in need. His life story not only inspires me to work harder to achieve my educational goal, but also to work to help other people. Therefore, I would like to receive the education that helps me pursue my career which involves care and nurturing. As of now, I want to work harder to become a better student in nursing which will help me graduate as a qualified and competent candidate. After graduation, I want to serve the community by promoting and maintaining health in society. To build financial independence and put my knowledge and ideas into practice, I would like to work. Besides that, I would also like to continue my education so that I can gain better experience in providing the best level of care.
