One of the key concepts for achieving success is considering the richness of ambition; however, it can act as a “double-edged sword” problem in someone's life. William Shakespeare uses the character Macbeth to demonstrate the dangerous qualities and amount of uncontrolled ambition in the tragic play "Macbeth". The prophecies and Lady Macbeth exploit Macbeth's ambition to achieve his goal of becoming king of Scotland by considering killing the current king, Duncan. As a result, Macbeth's ambition goes out of control by carrying out a series of murders to hide the golden truth, which results in his ruthlessness and breaking off relationships with everyone, as Shakespeare suggests the individual wants to limit control of power and obtain a stronger identity; certain concerns about uncontrolled ambition can be destructive of his moral values and result in failure within the relationship.
