Religion and the idea of homosexuality tend to be offensive to many religious individuals, especially Christians. One of the “Golden Rules” stated in the Bible is to treat others as you would like to be treated; yet many Christians continually mistreat homosexuals. Homosexuality within Christianity has many aspects and with it comes many issues. For decades, homosexuals have been seen as worshipers of evil and along with such discrimination many have been characterized as vulgar, stubborn and evil. " (Barton, 70). There are those who think it is a sin in the eyes of God and according to the Bible, and there are those who think that God and the Bible are not specific to gays. The connection between religion and homosexuality may differ between different religions. On this point there are many religious groups that are negative towards homosexuality, and there are many different types of actions they can take towards homosexual behavior in many Christian families who have a homosexual individual in the family , most choose to keep it a secret so as not to be rejected by their families, friends and neighbors (Barton, 87). However, on this point there are many religions that see two people with the same sexual orientation as a positive thing and many religious people they might even bless and support homosexuals.
