No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't make a sound. I woke up to the smell of bacon and my mother yelling "get up" in the most condescending tone. I leapt out of bed and into the hot shower. The thought that today was the first day of school made me panic. I got dressed and went to eat before leaving. My mother told me I looked great, I was shocked. After I finished eating, I set out for the treacherous day ahead. I walked out the door and smelled the crisp summer air. I wandered along the road watching the breathtaking view of the trees changing colors and the breeze making them sway. I stopped suddenly and took a deep breath. I slowly approached thinking about all the things that could go wrong on the first day back. I walked through the huge doors of a zoo called Malibu High. It smelled like sweat and dirty socks. As I walked down the hall I could hear the girls talking about their summer outings and the boys talking about sports. I found my locker and placed my supplies there. As I was putting my school supplies in my locker I smelled a faint odor of sweaty football players coming towards me. “Please don't come get me” I thought to myself while trying to be discreet. There's one football player in particular, his name is Troy Oden. He is the single most harmful person. He thinks he has so much style, and on top of that he's very arrogant. He is extremely tall with dark brown hair and muscles like a world class athlete. Troy and his "Gang" approached me and insulted me while giving me smirks. “Nerd.” One said obnoxiously, “You will never fit in.” Another said defiantly. They had soon abandoned me and returned to their place. I walked quickly towards the classroom... middle of paper... the athletes, and especially Troy. They told them that I shouldn't make fun of myself because I didn't have many friends or that I had attempted suicide because of them. The more they told them, the more people joined them, even some athletes after realizing what they had done. This went on until the 4 remaining athletes left, defeated. The huge group of people that had gathered slowly dispersed, returning to their seats. The few people left standing near me and Sammy offered us to have lunch with them. I didn't know what to say, standing there in shock. "Yes!" I responded very excited. I stood there with the biggest smile on my face. My smile almost reached my ears. I sat with them and had the best lunch ever. Even though I have been through a lot, I have managed to escape death and get to where I belong. Everyone belongs somewhere.
