ADT Wellness Program: What Works and What Doesn't There's a saying, "when you look good, you feel good"; that can be transparent in the world of healthcare. In the case of ADT employees, who are exposed to the wellness program, it is a great benefit for employees to learn how to become healthier and become proactive about different health topics. In contrast, the primary purpose of implementing a wellness program (which is to increase ADT's profitability margins) should not be the primary purpose of starting a wellness program. Incentivizing employees to complete the well-being survey should not be the primary reason the assessment is performed. Furthermore, an online assessment should not form the basis of an individual's health. First, no physical assessment is conducted, rather you must complete an easily manipulated online assessment. Bottom line: Does this wellness program really work? From the employee's perspective, it works. ADT wanted a program that would motivate its employees, which this program did effectively. Employees are filling out the assessment and receiving their $200 bonus pay. In my opinion, from the employer's perspective, it doesn't work because doing a wellness assessment that will give you $200 has no direct impact and doesn't improve the actual productivity of the company. Therefore, it does not motivate employees to work more efficiently. In reality, it is simply a matter of motivating employees to complete the assessment and directing other employees to take this assessment so that they too can receive their bonus salary.
