Topic > My College Journey: A Career as a Criminal Profiler

As I sit at home on my bed trying to get all my schoolwork done in time for class, I think about all the other things I could be doing or if I should totally do it. I always end up playing with my puppy, looking for something to watch on TV or going on social media and putting homework aside to do later so I can get ideas. Deciding whether or not to do it makes me wonder what I would do without a college education and how I need it to be able to pursue the career I want. I usually rush right before class to finish my homework with the ideas I've gathered so far. I chose to enroll at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the middle of my senior year because it was the only university in Las Vegas. so it was easier to choose where to go. I couldn't afford to pay it, but I got enough grants and scholarships to cover my tuition. My first day at UNLV wasn't as bad as going from middle school to high school for me. As my dad drives me to college, he asks me a few times if I'm nervous and tells me I'll get used to it quickly once I've spent a few days there, have a strategy for how I'll handle college and entering a whole new world. My dad has always been the parent who takes care of me, does everything for me, gives me support at school and told me not to stress about school because I already try hard enough. Then he made sure I met up with my boyfriend later in the day so I wouldn't be too lost or confused. The fact that my boyfriend went to the same school really helped me find out where my classes were and where the main buildings were. Even today I am trying to familiarize myself with the campus, its student life and its organizations, and I still need assistance... middle of the paper... notes on the side, take well-explained notes in class and ask questions when I have them need, then I would do better. Eating is also an important part in learning and success, if people do not have a well-nourished body they will not be able to think clearly enough to do everything necessary for college courses. Finally, here I am writing this assignment on the first floor of the library, finishing this document so I can continue my academic and professional journey. I have learned so many things in just the last couple of years that have helped me in other situations in my life and I will carry them with me to help me along with things for the rest of my life; like multitasking, highlighting important facts, summarizing, communicating, not being so self-conscious, and finally being successful in pursuing my dreams and going to UNLV and becoming a criminal profiler.
